We,re here in Smithers, WV tonight to catch a Class A match up between the Valley Greyhounds and the visiting Fayetteville Pirates. Each team comes in looking for a tough fought victory over their opponent as we get set for tip-off.
Fayetteville came out the more aggressive team as they won the tip and outscored the Greyhounds 16-6 in the first quarter. the quarter flew by quickly as only 3 fouls were commited, all by Valley.
Valley was a lot more competitive in the second quarter as the dispatched with the Pirates press and ran up an down the court. The Greyhounds scorched the nets for 25 points in the quarter, while Fayetteville netted 18.
At halftime its Fayetteville 34, Valley 31.
